June 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - MYSURU:

JSS Hospital in the city has been included in the list of empanelled health care clinics under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) which will benefit thousands of retired soldiers in the region. It is one of the few hospitals which have tied up with ECHS to provide tertiary care facilities for ex-service men in and around Mysuru.

The ECHS provides primary and partial secondary care services through the network of polyclinics run by the ECHS and as per the arrangement, JSS Hospital is bound to provide cashless service to the beneficiaries of ECHS. “This empanelment will benefit 6,400 members and their dependants spread across Karnataka within the purview of 17 ECHS polyclinics,” said hospital authorities.

Ex-servicemen are generally provided out-patient treatment at the polyclinics and in case there was a need for follow-up, then they are referred to hospitals with better facilities if they are empanelled under the ECHS.

A hospital release said JSS Hospital is known for affordable health care and is open for more empanelment and tie ups from companies and industries that require comprehensive medical care .

Air Vice Marshal O.P. Tiwari, Major. Gen Karumbaiah (retired), Brigadier Rajan, Dr (Col) R K Chaturvedi, Dr Guruswamy and others were present on the occasion.
