Mobile phone users will not be able to receive any updates on the Dasara on WhatsApp this year.
Kanth Raj, chief executive officer, Dot Angle, which is helping the district administration’s digital initiative for Dasara, said the option to receive updates on WhatsApp had been discontinued.
The WhatsApp initiative of the district administration was a huge hit last year with more than 11,200 mobile phone subscribers opting to receive updates last year.
However, the Facebook page of Dasara, https://www.facebook.com/mysoorudasara, liked by more than 23,000 people as well as the Twitter account @Mysoorudasara would be updated regularly, he said.
