No proposal to introduce dress code at Chamundeshwari Temple

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has denied that there was any proposal before the government to introduce a dress code for devotees visiting Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills.

“There is no such proposal before the government”, he told reporters on his arrival at the airport in Mysuru on Friday.

The managing committee of the temple had recently passed a resolution to introduce a dress after receiving complaints about people found in “inappropriate” outfits.

Though the committee claimed to have passed a resolution to the effect on September 27 and forwarded the same to the State government seeking its nod, Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru C. Shikha has denied receiving any such proposal.
