No differences with Siddaramaiah: Shivakumar

Continuing his temple run in Mysuru for the second day on Friday, former Minister D.K. Shivakumar denied any differences with former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hills in Mysuru, Mr. Shivakumar said he was discharging his duties as MLA under Mr. Siddaramaiah, Leader of the Opposition.

Several Congress leaders in Mysuru, which is Mr. Siddaramaiah’s home turf, had praised Mr. Shivakumar at a rally here on Thursday. Former Minister Tanveer Sait had even favoured Congress returning to power and Mr. Shivakumar assuming the post of CM. Meanwhile, Mr. Siddaramaiah, who was also in Mysuru on Friday, said people were free to air their opinions on different issues when a reporter brought to his notice Mr. Sait’s statement.

Mr. Shivakumar, who visited Srikanteshwara temple in Nanjangud on Thursday, had a chance meeting with former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and former Minister G.T. Deve Gowda atop Chamundi Hills on Friday.

Mr. Shivakumar, who has been booked by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of money laundering, is on a ‘thanksgiving’ temple run across Mysuru and Mandya districts in the Old Mysore region after his recent release. Former Minister and JD(S) leader S.R. Mahesh too met Mr. Shivakumar when the latter visited the Adi Chunchanagiri Mutt at Bogadi on Friday.

Incidentally, Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hills in Mysuru was also visited by disqualified MLAs Ramesh Jarkiholi and Mahesh Kumathalli, who had petitioned the Supreme Court for relief from disqualification.
