The government had no plan to increase bus fares following the increase in the diesel price, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said on Saturday.
“With the hike in diesel prices, the transport corporations have been spending more on bus services. However, the government will not increase bus fares now,” he told presspersons.
He was at Keralapura in Arkalgud taluk to lay the foundation stone for a KSRTC bus-stand.
The State road transport corporations were committed to providing services to all rural areas and improve basic infrastructure. “We are making all efforts to ensure bus services to all rural areas,” he said.
On the row over the Road Transport and Safety Bill 2014, Mr. Reddy said there were good and bad parts in it.
