National youth festival concludes in Mandya

The eight-day district-level National Youth Week celebrations, which began on January 12, concluded at Induwalu village on the outskirts of the city on Monday, with a large number of youth participating.

H.P. Manjula, Assistant Director for the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports; writer Shanthakumari, former MLC H. Honnappa and others inaugurated the valedictory ceremony of the event by offering flowers to the portrait of the iconic national hero Swami Vivekananda.

Ms. Manjula has requested the youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda to make India a strong nation.

A painting competition and cultural programmes were organised on the occasion. District Women and Child Welfare officer, S. Diwakar, Nehru Yuva Kendra officer, Siddaramappa, District Yuva Parishat president, M. Yogesh and others were present.
