Mysuru students to enter State finals of TechBytes 2019


The Mysuru Regional Finals of TCS TechBytes 2019 was conducted recently at JSS Science and Technology University. The IT quiz was organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous body promoted by the State government in association with IT industries and educational institutions, for engineering students in Karnataka.

At the Mysuru Regional Finals, students underwent a written preliminary round and the top 6 teams participated in an interactive quiz. The animation based quiz format had the following three segments – Byte Link, Byte Pixel, Byte Jumble, Byte Connect and Byte Waves. Guruprasad Veerannavaru and Chandan Hegde from National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru, emerged winners, followed by Adith A. Danthi and Nikhil Ramesh from Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru.

The winners took home an educational scholarship of ₹12,000, a trophy and prizes from TCS. The runners-up received an educational scholarship of ₹10,000 and prizes from TCS. The teams that stood 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th received earphones, pen drives, haversacks, T-shirts and speakers. All participants were also given certificates.

The winners will participate in the State finals in Bengaluru on March 21.

TCS TechBytes, a campus outreach programme, strives to provide a better understanding of IT to students of all streams of engineering. The regional finals are being conducted across six cities in Karnataka – Kalaburagi, Hubballi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Tumakuru.
