Mysuru gets train to Hyderabad

The demand for extending the Kacheguda-KSR Bengaluru Express to Mysuru was at last realised with the train (Number 12785) extended up to the city and its service was flagged off here on Tuesday.

Mysuru MP Pratap Simha flagged off the train from the Mysuru Railway Station. Maritiebbe Gowda, MLC; Divisional Railway Manager Aparna Garg; and others senior railway officials were present. The train has established a direct connectivity to Hyderabad and is expected to improve tourism growth, according to the railways.

The train covers a distance of 753 km from Mysuru to Kacheguda in about 14-and-a-half hours. It will run as superfast between Kacheguda and Bengaluru City and non-superfast between Mysuru-Bengaluru City-Mysuru.

The train will have stoppages at Mahaboobnagar, Kurnool town, Anantpur, Dharmavaram junction, Hindupur, Yelahanka, Bengaluru Cant, Bengaluru City, Kengeri, Ramanagaram, Mandya and Mysuru City. It will leave Mysuru station at 2.45 p.m. and reach Bengaluru city at 5.40 p.m.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Simha said the Kacheguda train was extended till Mysuru on public demand. Many new trains had been introduced to Mysuru and a few more were expected in the coming days. There are plans to connect Mysuru with Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai and Madgoan.
