Mysore varsity convocation: Foreign student bags 20 gold medals

A foreign student has bagged maximum gold medals in the University of Mysore.

Emelife Stella Chinelo, a student of M.Sc. Chemistry, will be receiving 20 gold medals and five cash prizes at the 99th annual convocation of the university on Sunday. She has been awarded a final grade point (FGP) of 9.263%.

This is perhaps for the first time in the recent years that a foreign student has bagged so many gold medals. The University of Mysore has over 1,000 foreign students pursuing UG and PG courses in colleges affiliated to it and in Manasagangotri. The International Centre on campus looks after the admissions and other matters.

With an FGP of 8.394%, Sanjana Darla P., a student of M.A. Economics has bagged ten gold medals — the second highest number of gold medals — and three cash prizes.
