Department inaugurated

The Department of Studies in Genetics and Genomics, University of Mysore, was inaugurated here on Saturday. A release said the new department has emerged from the Department Studies in Zoology and has the potential to offer new courses in the stream of Genomics, Human Genetics, Human Genomics, Microbial Genomics, Genes and Development, Cell and Molecular Biology, Population Genetics and Evolution etc all of which has enormous applications for the society, the release added.

Free workshop

Jnana Deepthi Trust will conduct a free workshop on Police Sub Inspectors recruitment test, the date of which will be announced in due course. The workshop will be conducted by Honnaiah and potential candidates aspiring to appear for the test may register for the workshop before October 15, 2015 between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the trust premises located at No.10/2, M.N.Jois Road, near Marimallappa’s College, or call 9844099674.

Cases resolved

In all, 8,436 cases were disposed of in the district during the Lok Adalat held here on Saturday. A release said the disputes also related to municipal matters and were taken up for amicable settlement at the monthly Lok Adalat.
