Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik on Monday criticised the State government for not arresting writer K.S. Bhagavan, even though several cases had been filed against him for his remarks on holy books and epic characters like Rama and Krishna.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Muthalik said Sri Rama Sene alone had filed 32 cases against Mr. Bhagavan at various places in the State, but the government had not initiated any action against him.“Workers of Sri Rama Sene have been taken into custody on the charge of threatening Mr. Bhagavan over phone.
But, the police are silent over the cases that we have filed against him. If he has the guts, let him speak about the gods of other religions,” he said.To a question on cow slaughter, Mr. Muthalik said: “On the one hand, some States are banning cow slaughter and on the other, the quantity of beef export has been going up steadily,” he said.
