Actor turned producer Pooja Gandhi, who has remained politically neutral after a brief ‘party hopping’ stint and a loss in the assembly election, will announce her political plans in a month.

Ms. Gandhi who is on a promotional tour for her Kannada film ‘Abhinetri’, told presspersons here on Tuesday that she intended to make clear her political plans within a month.

Buoyed by the ‘success’ of her film she has decided to launch her next project in a fortnight and said that it would be making films on new subjects like the subject of her first film.

The ‘Mungaru Male’ fame actor said that her first film under the ‘Pooja Gandhi Productions’ banner had been well received by the Kannada film fans especially women.

“We had released 170 prints across the state. I have already toured several of the towns and cities where the film is being screened and the response is huge”, she said. Pooja Gandhi said that because of various controversies and technical hurdles, the film release got delayed, but that had not deterred her from going ahead with her next film in Kannada.

Director of ‘Abhinetri’, Satish Pradhan termed the film as a product of well-researched project. “A lot of research went into the making of the film. While the inspiration for the story was late actor Kalpana, we interacted with the film veterans who were involved in film production and direction during 1960s and 1970s and also many who were associated with the late actor in one way or the other", he said.
