Rajkumar Patil Telkur, MLA, Sedam taluk, accused of cheating nationalised banks by procuring huge loans after producing warehouse bills in the names of oblivious farmers, said he has been given a clean chit by Additional District and Special Judge for CBI Cases, Dharwad, on Thursday.

Addressing presspersons in Kalaburagi on Friday Mr. Telkur, who was facing charges under various sections of the IPC and also Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, said the CBI court has given him the clean chit as it did not find his involvement in the case, in which a huge loan was taken in the name of farmers after producing fake warehouse bills in Sedam taluk in 2010.

“It was a conspiracy by my political rivals to drag me to court to tarnish my image and end my political career; I have suffered a lot in the last nine years. I had faith in the law and finally justice is delivered,” Mr. Telkur said.
