Minister visits family members of two Dalits killed in Gundlupet

Minister for Social Welfare H. Aanjaneya visited the family members of Nanjaiah and Krishnaiah at Kavudavadi and Deshavalli respectively in Santhemaranhalli hobli to condole the death of the duo. Recently, Nanjaiah and Krishnaiah, both Dalits, had been killed in their respective farmlands. Mr. Anjaneya also visited Malavalli in Gundlupet taluk, where a Dalit woman, Gowramma, was found dead under mysterious conditions. Mr. Anjaneya promised the family members of the three victims that he would urge the government to extend all possible assistance to bereaved families.

Details sought

Mr.Aanjaneya asked the family members of Nanjaiah in Kavudavadi on Sunday to furnish the details of compensation they had received. The Minister was informed by Rajesh Gowda, the district Social Welfare Officer that Rs. 3.75 lakh had been disbursed as relief so far.
