Following an allegation of sexual assault against its director, Kannada film ‘Bale Kempa’ by Ere Gowda has been dropped from the schedule of the Dharmashala International Film Festival (DIFF) that begins on November 1.
The allegation was made anonymously on Facebook by the alleged victim’s friend. The director of the film was also the screenwriter of Thithi , a hugely successful experimental film in Kannada.
Bale Kempa had bagged the International Federation of Film Critics Award at the Rotterdam festival and the Work-in-Progress Lab-2017 Award at IFFI held in Goa.
