January 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - Udupi:

People — young and old — watched Mercury and Venus, with their naked eyes and through telescopes, at the sky-gazing programme organised by Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers Club here on Tuesday. A lecture by A.P. Bhat, club coordinator and Head of Department of Physics at Poornaprajna College, about planets was also organised.

Prof. Bhat said that Mercury and Venus were visible in the Western sky for the next two days. “Mercury is visible close to Venus for next two days. To see this again, we must wait till May 25, 2016,” he added.
