Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) will be collecting relief materials for victims of rain-battered Kodagu at Town Hall. On Friday it constituted a team of officials including Health Officer Nagaraju and Environmental Engineer Maithri to oversee the collection. “ People can donate non-perishable food items, emergency medicine, blankets, clothes, torches, packaging items etc. We will send them to Kodagu in MCC vehicles,” said Dr. Nagaraju.

In a statement here on Friday, MCC Commissioner K.H. Jagadeesh said the MCC team overseeing the collection has been asked to issue an acknowledgement to organisations donating materials.

Mysuru Memes, which promotes Mysuru through social media, is not only creating awareness of the floods on its social media platforms, but has also started collecting dry ration and clothes to support Kodagu in its hour of need.

“We are also digital partners for Citizen Forum for Flood Relief in Kodagu”, said Ravi Keerthi of Mysuru Memes, which sent more than 650 packets of biscuits to flood victims in Kodagu.
