MCC brings down illegal hoardings

December 08, 2013 08:29 am | Updated 08:29 am IST - MYSORE:

The Mysore City Corporation (MCC) took down around 70 hoardings on Friday as well as Saturday during its drive against illegal billboards and advertisement hoardings. “We are focusing on giant hoardings which pose a threat to motorists as they are a distraction and at the same time are unauthorised,” according to Revenue Inspector Govindappa of Zone 3. There were 18 unauthorised hoardings in the zone of which seven had been removed. Eleven hoardings would be removed on Monday. Most of the hoardings were at traffic junctions on Bogadi Road and Kukkarahalli Circle in zone 3, he said.

MCC Commissioner P.G. Ramesh said the drive would continue till the city was free of such hoardings.
