The Palakkad Division of Southern Railway has completed installation of an additional foot overbridge at Mangaluru Central Railway Station.

As against the target of August 31, 2019, the overbridge has been completed ahead of schedule. It connects Platform No 1 with two other platforms, 2 and 3, and is located near the Wenlock Hospital-end.

According to officials, the overbridge was erected as per the design of the Research Design Standards Organisation of the Railways at a cost of ₹ 1.75 crore. It is 3.3 m in width and 25.44 m in length. The foundation stone for the overbridge was laid in April 2017.

Mangaluru Central Railway Station already has one foot overbridge close to the RMS office, at the other end of the station platform. The new overbridge would help passengers entering the station from the Wenlock Hospital-side to reach the other two platforms.
