The Balehonnur police on Thursday arrested a man on the charge of raping a minor girl.
The police gave the name of the arrested as Tangu, alias Ibrahim.
According to the police, the accused had lured a 16-year-old girl and raped her a few months ago. The incident came to light recently, when her parents came to know that she was pregnant. Based on her statement, the Balehonnur police registered a complaint and arrested the accused.
A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
The accused has been remanded to judicial custody, the police said.
