Man held on charge of murder

The Mandya Rural police have said that the case of murder of a nurse, Pratima, has been solved with the arrest of her lover.

Pratima (21), resident of Chandagalu, was found murdered and dumped in the Visvesvaraya Canal at Yeliyuru on the outskirts of the town on June 14 this year within about three days from her betrothal. She was working in a private hospital at Bandigowda Layout here.

The police have arrested her lover M. Umesh of Chandagalu, a driver from Chandagalu for allegedly murdering Pratima.

The Mandya Rural police have beeninvestigating the case to ascertain the cause of her murder.
