Channarayapatna police, on Thursday, arrested two people in connection with the alleged murder of a couple, reported on June 17.
The arrested Nagaraj and Jagadish are residents of Channarayapatna taluk. Mohan Kumar, a resident of Byadarahalli in Channarayapatna taluk and his wife Pavithra were allegedly murdered by Mohan’s brother, Nagaraj and his other associates.
Nagaraj and Mohan Kumar had property-related differences. Mohan Kumar and Pavithra were hit by a four-wheeler when they were riding on a two-wheeler on June 17. Pavithra’s parents staged a protest outside the police station alleging that the incident was not an accident, but a murder. They suspected Nagaraj's involvement in the incident. Following the protest, the police had registered a case of murder.
Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta told media persons here on Thursday, that the police have arrested Nagaraj and his associate Jagadish in connection with the murder. The police had been investigating if other are involved in the crime.
