The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda has rejected the Chief Minister’s invitation for talks on the issue of land acquisition for creation of land banks saying that it will not be of much use considering the outcome of his previous talks with B.S. Yeddyurappa.
Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Mr. Gowda said: “Mr. Yeddyurappa has not invited me. I went to meet him at his residence on my own. I had gone with some farmers with a bouquet and he received me with a few Ministers. We exchanged bouquets and then had discussion. At the end of it, I came back alone. I was expecting that he will come along with me to make a joint statement on the fallout of the discussion. And I told the presspersons that I was leaving disappointed.”
He said that he had ample reasons to believe that the move to create a “land bank” had all the chances of transforming into a real estate business.
