Low key 100th day celebration for BJP govt.

The 100th day celebration of the Bharatiya Janata Party government led by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa is most likely to be a low-key affair following the floods that have affected more than half the districts.

The government will complete its 100th day on November 2. Party sources feel that holding programmes in a grand manner would send a wrong signal as people of the State have been hit by the floods for the second time. Also, they feel that completing 100 days is not a major milestone to celebrate.

The government is expected to use the occasion to create public awareness about its achievements in various sectors, especially handling of flood relief. “It would mainly be a media campaign,” sources said.
