Software Paradigms Infotech (SPI) conferred the K.K. Mookerji CSR award on Little Sisters of the Poor on its 20th anniversary celebrations in Mysuru.

The annual award, instituted last year in the memory of SPI’s Founding Managing Director, carries a purse of Rs. 1 lakh and a citation.

The award for 2015 was presented to Mother – Gemme by Sid Mookerji, CEO, and Sophie Mookerji, Chairperson, SPI on the company’s campus in Hebbal here.

Little Sisters of the Poor is a non-profit organisation managing a home for the aged here. “The award has been bestowed upon Little Sisters of the Poor for its initiatives to help senior citizens of the society. The home doesn’t have any regular source of income and depends upon donations. By instituting this award, we want to encourage and recognise NGOs that actively contribute towards the overall development of our society,” said Ms. Sophie, who also heads SPI Foundation.

SPI Foundation is the philanthropic arm of SPI. Since its inception in 2007, the foundation has been involved in charitable activities in the field of education, health, environment and care of the elderly, said a release.

The children of SPI’s adopted school, the School for Deaf and Dumb Children in Tilaknagar and the Parents’ Association of Deaf children, gave a colourful performance to the 2,000-plus audience that included employees and their families.

C. Shikha, Deputy Commissioner, Mysuru, was present. Singers Benny Dayal and Shakthisree Gopalan performed to commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
