‘Literature raises voice against wrong deeds’

January 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - DHARWAD:

Literature has the power to raise voice against the wrong deeds committed by even the greatest of leaders and rulers, veteran writer Allamaprabhu Betadur has said.

He was inaugurating the 12th Samskruthika Janotsava organised jointly by Aavishkar Samskrutika Sanghatane, All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) and All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) in memory of Charlie Chaplin at Karnatak Vidyavardhak Sangha here on Saturday.

Mr. Betadur said that the need of the hour was to unite people using literature. It was unfortunate that people were trying to build temples for Godse in the land of Gandhi, he said. Assistant Professor N. Ramanjaneya, Akshay Talakal of AIDSO and AIDYO district president Laxman Jadagannavar were present.
