The Forest Department staff, on Saturday, captured a three-year-old leopardess which was sighted at Aggunda village in Arsikere taluk on Saturday.

The animal was noticed by villagers in the morning on agricultural land belonging to Shivanna of the village. The villagers informed the Forest Department officers over the phone.

The officers succeeded in capturing the animal with the help of a net. The officers said the animal was tired, may be because it had not eaten for quite some time. The animal would be released into the forest area, the officers added.
