Mandya Karnataka 17_January_2015 : An adult leopard was found dead near Dadamudike village in Nagamanga taluk of Mandya district on January 17, 2015

A leopard, aged about 10 years, was found dead near Dadamudike village in Nagamangala taluk of the district on Saturday.

The big cat was roaming about in the vicinity of Goggegowdana Koppalu, Mallasandra, Keremegala Koppalu, Muthsandra, Bitagonahalli, Dadamudike Koppalu, Mailara Patna and a few other villages for the past few weeks, sources in the Forest Department said. The carcass was found in an agricultural field of Nagaraju. The department would send the vital parts of the animal to a laboratory to ascertain the cause of death, sources added.

The carcass was burnt at the spot after conducting the post-mortem.

Police and forest officials visited the area.
