Municipal Administration Minister Qamarul Islam, who is in-charge of Kalaburagi district, has said that a delegation of legislators from the Hyderabad Karnataka region will meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on June 28 to demand establishment of a Bench of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) in Kalaburagi.

Mr. Qamarul, who is in New Delhi to participate in the launching of the smart city by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, told The Hindu over phone that he was not present in the Cabinet meeting when the decision was taken.

“I have spoken to Law Minister T.B. Jayachandra and has reiterated the demand for establishing the KAT Bench in Kalaburagi and pointed out that the Hyderabad Karnataka Region Development Board too had passed a unanimous resolution,” he said.
