‘KVS neglecting former office-bearers’

January 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - DHARWAD:

Shivanand Gali, a former joint-secretary of the Karnatak Vidyavardhak Sangha (KVS), has alleged that KVS office-bearers are neglecting those who have contributed to the growth of the organisation.

He told presspersons here on Thursday that Horanadu Kannadiga Sammelan, an annual conference of Kannadigas residing outside the State, was the best example of this. Several sincere workers of the sangha were not invited to be part of the team which left for New Delhi where this year’s conference is being held.

The team of 72 people has wives and children of the office-bearers. “I worked as KVS joint-secretary for more than 25 years and was instrumental in getting funds from the government for the centenary building. The present team of office-bearers have forgotten the works of the its predecessors,” he alleged. Mr. Gali said he had written to KVS president Patil Puttappa, but had not got any reply so far.
