Kumaraswamy starts pre-budget meetings

Amid intense political developments, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday started preparations for his second budget, which is scheduled to be placed before the legislature in the second week of February.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, he held meetings on issues pertaining to the Labour Department with Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, Labour Minister Venkataramanappa, Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar, and his economic advisor Subramanya, among others. Mr. Kumaraswamy will have meetings with department officials, farmers’ associations, and representatives of trade bodies, transport associations, excise associations, and real estate. The pre-budget meetings will end on January 28 with a review of tax collection.
