In the backdrop of Tamil Nadu bandh over Cauvery issue on Thursday, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has taken a decision to not operate day services to the neighbouring State. However, the night services from both ends will be operational.

A senior official of the KSRTC said, “A decision has been taken in the interest of passengers commuting between the two States. During the bandh, passenger vehicles often become the target; so, to avoid any untoward incidents, we have decided to suspend all the day services.”

The official said more than 40 buses are operated from Bengaluru and Mysore division to various destinations in Tamil Nadu and 20 services are operated from Tamil Nadu. The KSRTC has taken a decision to refund the tickets of passengers, who have already purchased them online.
