Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said children studying in government schools would soon get milk five days a week under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme instead of three days now. A formal announcement on this would be made soon, he added.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a mega dairy complex, to come up at a cost of Rs. 183 crore, at Alanahalli here. He said milk production in the State had touched 73 lakh litres a day and was expected to reach 100 lakh litres a day shortly.
He said dairy industry had registered rapid strides in the State and the government had responded by launching new dairy projects, including Mysuru mega dairy at a cost of Rs. 124 crore and Mysuru milk powder making plant at Rs. 59 crore.
