Krishnamurthy Hebbar gets Pandeshwar Award

Krishnamurthy Hebbar, editor of ‘Nagarika’, a Kannada weekly from Honnavar, has been selected for the prestigious Pandeshwar Award for the year 2014, according to a report from G.R. Pandeshwar Pratishtana, Dharwad, on Thursday.

The award is installed in the name of noted journalist late G.R. Pandeshwar and has been conferred to the best journalists since the past 10 years. The award includes cash prize and a citation.

‘Nagarika’ is in its 69th year of publication and Krishnamurthy is leading the weekly since three decades.

The award will be conferred by veteran journalist Patil Puttappa in a programme to be held at the Journalism Department Hall of Karnataka University, Dharwad, on November 4 at 11 a.m.
