KPCC president G. Parameshwara has said that the party’s State unit will prepare and send a list of probable candidates for the Lok Sabha elections to the high command by January first week.
Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday, Dr. Parameshwara said that the high command was likely to finalise the list by the end of January.
He clarified that youths and candidates with clean image would be given a chance in the Lok Sabha elections. Eligible woman candidates would also be considered and based on their winning ability, party ticket would be decided.
To a query, Dr. Parameshwara said that candidates facing charges would not be given a chance to contest the election on the party ticket.
He said that the Congress had neither considered Aam Aadmi Party a serious threat nor it had neglected it in the State.
Outside Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party didn’t have a following and it was mostly city-oriented, he said.
To a query, he said that as the issue of reservation for local bodies was before court, the State government would take a decision only after the court’s verdict.
