Kodur branch of Canara Bank robbed

In a major theft, unknown miscreants looted Rs. 23 lakh cash from Kadur branch of Canara Bank after entering the bank by breaking a window. The incident came to light on Monday morning, when bank officials reached the bank for duty.

Dayanand, Branch Manager, has filed a complaint with Kadur police, stating that miscreants entered the bank by breaking a window in the toilet. The locker was opened probably with the help of a drilling machine. They emptied the locker by taking away all the cash kept there. The police said that the CCTV cameras installed by the bank have not been functioning for the past one month and the siren was not in working condition.

The bank officers are checking if any gold ornaments were also stolen. Senior police officers visited the spot.
