KFU’s learning centre inaugurated

The much-awaited learning centre of Karnataka State Folklore University (Karnataka Janapada University) was inaugurated here on Friday.

C.S. Puttaraju, MP, inaugurated the centre’s office at Kallahalli on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway here.

The KFU, which was inaugurated at Gotagodi in Shiggaon taluk in Haveri district in 2012, will focus on folk studies and research in Mandya through the learning centre, Vice-Chancellor KFU Ambalike Hiriyanna said.

The State government has allotted around 15 acres of land for the centre near H. Malligere on the outskirts of the city.

Mandya Deputy Commissioner M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan and others were present.
