Thousands of students will be inconvenienced as the PGCET and DCET examinations slated for next week have been postponed by a week. This is due to a delay in printing of question papers and other confidential material by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
KEA, in a press release, said PGCET-2019, the entrance exam for admission to MBA, MCA, M.E. / Vl. tech / M.Arch courses, which was to be held on July 13 and 14, has been postponed to July 20 and 21.
The DCET-2019 exam, gateway for students to bag entry into the third semester of engineering courses, has been postponed to July 21. Around 70,000 candidates have registered for both examinations.
R. Girish, executive director of KEA, confirmed that there was delay in printing question papers and OMR sheets. “We thought it best that we postpone the examinations,” he said. “I wish the authorities had ensured that all preparation was done on time,” said Suresh S. who has registered for PGCET.
Candidates can visit the KEA website and download the admission ticket for both examinations from July 11 onwards.
