The Karnataka Administrative (KAT) has stayed the suspension of B.T. Manju Naik, assistant professor of Government Law College, Kolar.
The Commissioner of Directorate of Collegiate Education had suspended Mr. Naik in connection with a false ragging case, following a direction by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The Hindu had carried a report on the suspension on May 22.
The KAT, in its June 3 order, a copy of which is available with this paper, said the suspension order had been stayed for two months or until further orders, whichever was earlier.
Meanwhile, Mr. Naik clarified that all the allegations levelled against him were false and baseless.
He claimed, in a release, that he was suspended on the basis of a false report submitted by the principal of the college.
‘Don’t have powers’
“I don’t have any financial powers to purchase books, nor any power to distribute scholarships. Allegations in this connection don’t hold any water at all as I don’t have such powers,” he added.
