Reacting to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's statement that he would make Karnataka 'BJP-free' during 'Sarvodaya Samavesha' held here on Saturday, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar has opined that the CM should "stop day-dreaming".
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he stated that the Congress leaders including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are issuing such statements as they are not acquainted with BJP's popularity and the development works being taken up by the Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The BJP will definitely make Congress-free country in the next elections and BJP will come to power in the State after 2018 elections”, he added.
He also alleged that the development works in the State have come to stand-still and the financial condition of the government is very pathetic. “In the last two years, the government has obtained Rs. 180 lakh crores loan and all the ministers are busy in looting public money”, he added.
Instead of commenting on cases against BJP leaders, the Chief Minister should initiate action against his five cabinet colleagues D.K. Shivkumar, K.J. George, Dinesh Gundurao, Kamarul Islam and Mahadev Prasad, who are facing Lokayukta inquiry for different cases, he added.
