Kannada medium PU College to come up

If the State government is keen on starting English-medium classes in its schools, a Mysuru-based educational institution, which promotes Kannada, plans to launch a Kannada-medium PU college.

Reckoned to be one of a kind in the State, the college has been founded by Kannada Vikasa Shaikshanika Samajika Samskruthika Samsthe, which in turn has been running a Kannada medium school – Nrupathunga School — under a private set up for many years now.

The Kannada-medium Science and Commerce PU College has come up at Ramakrishnanagar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to inaugurate the school on May 19.

Many retired college lecturers and academicians have come forward to support the initiative and take up teaching to promote Kannada in PU education.
