Even after Kalaburagi city received a short spell of rain on Tuesday night, the city continued to sizzle with a maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius, the State’s highest temperature as per the summary recorded by the India Meteorological Department at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Sources in the department told The Hindu here that there was no respite from the heat wave conditions for the people of Hyderabad Karnataka and parts of Bombay Karnataka with the mercury hovering around 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the region.
The weather continued to be unbearable in Raichur, which recorded 42 degrees Celsius, followed by Bidar with 40.3 degrees Celsius. Ballari also continued to be under a heat wave spell with a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. Vijayapura recorded maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius and Bagalkot recorded 38.4 degree Celsius.
