The controversy over opposition to release Rajinikanth’s movie Kaala reached the High Court of Karnataka on Monday as the film’s producer sought a direction to restrain the State government and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce from preventing the release, distribution and exhibition of the film in the State.

The film’s production house, Wunderbar Films Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, and its two directors, including Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya, in their petition also sought directions to the police authorities to provide necessary security at theatres and for movie goers, directors, producers, and cast associated with Kaala in the State.
