Income Tax officials began search operations at residences belonged to three contractors, said to be close associates of PWD minister H.D. Revanna, on Thursday morning.
They also conducted search operations in the office and residence of PWD Executive Engineer C.S. Manju in Hassan.
The officers reached the residences of Narayana Reddy, Ashwath Narayana and Raya Gowda in Channarayapatna town early in the morning.
It is said that these contractors got many road works from PWD in the coalition government. However, the local police had no information about the operation.
When contacted, Hassan SP A.N. Prakash Gowda told The Hindu that he had no information about the IT operations. “The IT department had not sought support of local policemen for any of their operations in the district,” he said.
