International Partnership Award for KUD

The Centre for Rapid & Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal, has chosen Karnatak University, Dharwad for the CDRSP Anniversary International Partnership Award.

The CDSRP, which celebrating its 10th anniversary, made the selection in recognition of the collaboration work carried out between the two educational institutions. The collaboration has resulted in the publication of six book chapters and six academic scientific research papers in leading international journals.

In the backdrop of it, KUD is co-hosting the second International Conference on Direct Digital Manufacturing and Polymers at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria in Portugal, which began on Monday. Vice-Chancellor Pramod Gai said that the conference was one aspect of the collaborative scientific research activity between the two institutions.

The conference is the result of a MoU signed by the President of Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Nuno Mangas, and Mr. Gai.

Invited

In the conference, that will go on till May 18, M.Y. Kariduraganavar, Department of Chemistry of KUD, is presenting the anniversary keynote address on his research contributions in the area of “Smart Biopolymers”.

Karnatak University will also be represented by A.B. Vedamurthy, Department of Biotechnology, who will be delivering an invited talk on “Synthesis of Polymeric Nanocarriers for Cancer Treatment.”
