Incessant rain continued to affect life in Dharwad on Monday. Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) services were affected due to heavy rain that lashed the city for nearly two hours.

According to sources, a wheel of a bus got stuck at the exit point of BRTS depot behind the new Central Bus Stand when the bus moved over a trench that was dug for underground drainage works. The trench was not filled properly and the road too had turned slushy due to continuous and heavy downpour for the last four days. The driver of the bus had a tough time in removing the bus from the point where it got stuck. Buses starting from this spot could not operate as per schedule due to this incident.

However, the BRTS officials immediately dispatched workers to the spot to clear the hurdles. The technical staff too rushed to the spot and inspected the bus. Bus services were resumed after the hurdles were cleared, the sources said.

The city has been witnessing heavy rainfall in the last four days and it has affected life. On Monday too, heavy rain lashed the city since early morning.
