‘Implement Sadashiva panel report’

May 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - CHITRADURGA:

Members of the district unit of the Madiga Mahasabha took out a rally here recently demanding that the State government implement the recommendations of Justice A.G. Sadashiva Commission on reservation for Scheduled Castes and Schedules Tribes. The rally was inaugurated by Shadakshari Muni Swami of Shadakshari Peeta of Hiriyur.

The members took out a procession from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle through the main streets of the city and raised slogans against the State government for its inordinate delay in implementing the recommendations of the report.

The protesters said that of the total 101 Scheduled Castes in the State, the Madiga community has the highest population. But all the political parties were only using the community as vote bank by giving false assurances during elections.
