October 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - KALABURAGI:

The Hyderabad Karnataka Pradeshada Horatagala Samanvaya Samiti held the State government and the BJP leaders of Hubballi- Dharwad responsible for depriving Raichur of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

President of the samiti, Laxman Dasti, addressing presspersons here on Saturday, criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for going against the recommendations of the D.M. Nanjundappa Commission Report and proposing multiple names for the IIT. He accused BJP State president Pralhad Joshi, Leader of the Opposition in Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, for sidestepping Raichur and exerting pressure on the Union government to establish the IIT in Dharwad.

Mr. Dasti urged all the representatives of Hyderabad Karnataka to press the Union government to get the IIT for Raichur. The samiti will start an agitation in all six districts of Hyderabad Karnataka.
