II PU results drag Tumakuru to 24th place among districts

Tumakuru slips to the 24th position from 17th in the State in terms of pass percentage in the II PU results announced on Monday.

Deputy Director of PU Board, Lingaraju said that 22,650 students (freshers) had appeared for the examination out of which 13,821 have passed. The percentage is 61.02 per cent.

The pass percentage of private candidates is 23.62 per cent and the pass percentage of repeaters is 24.15 percent.

Hence, the total pass percentage of the district is 55.55 percent.

Science: The pass percentage in Science stream is 60.83 per cent. Yathish K.P. of Sarvodaya PU college in Tumakuru has scored a total marks of 588 and Harsha of the same college has scored 583.

Commerce: The percentage in Commerce stream is 69.11 percent. Nivedita K. Swamy of Siddaganga College for women has scored 592.

Arts: The pass percentage of Arts stream is 53.36 per cent. Chelavi Gandharva of Siddaganga college for women has scored 532.

Girls have performed better than boys with a pass percentage of 61.27 per cent over 48.98 per cent.
