I-T officials search residences of four top Kannada actors, three producers

The Income Tax (I-T) department on Thursday carried out raids at 23 locations in Karnataka, including the residences of three producers and actors who are part of recently released films.

Sources said search operations are underway at the residences of Puneeth Rajkumar, leading Kannada actor and son of matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar, producers Rockline Venkatesh, C Manohar also an MLC and Vijay Kiragandur, producer of the latest hit KGF .

Search operations are also on against prominent producer and distributor Jayanna, leading actors Shivaraj Kumar, Sudeep and Yash, sources said.

Actors Shivaraj Kumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, sons of Kannada thespian late Rajkumar, and Yash and Sudeep came under the I-T lens, officials told PTI, as the bigwigs of the state film industry woke up to the knocks of Income Tax officials on their doors.

The raids at one of the places, the I-T sources said, unearthed a huge cache of cash and gold ornaments. The I-T officials had brought with them a goldsmith to evaluate the ornaments.
